USA Bat Standards

As of January 1, 2018, the USA Baseball Bat standard took effect.  That means that any Little League-approved baseball bats that were approved for use during the 2017 season will no longer be acceptable for use in any Little League game or activity.  This new standard affects all NBLL divisions from tee ball through intermediates, although tee ball bats produced/purchased prior to this date may be certified for play through the USA Baseball Tee Ball Sticker Program.

The easiest way to determine if a baseball bat is approved for Little League play is to look for the USABat logo:

This rule does not affect wood bats.  Solid, one-piece wood bats that adhere to Little League’s regulations will be allowed for play with or without the USA Baseball mark. Multi-piece wood bats must have the USA Baseball mark to be approved for play. This includes two-piece wood bats, composite wood bats, laminated wood bats, bonded wood bats, bamboo bats, and any wood bat that could be defined as an ‘experimental’ design.
